Abstract
Liver transplant surgeries are challenging task for anaesthesiologists due to prolonged surgical time, major fluid shift, excessive blood loss, and significant hemodynamic disturbances. Well aimed hemodynamic monitoring is the cornerstone for safely navigating such cases. Presently cardiac output monitoring with minimally invasive technique using the FloTrac platform is being used as the standard monitoring system at our centre. Recently, Edwards Lifesciences, Irvine, CA has introduced hypotension prediction index (HPI) in the HemoSphere monitoring system. In this article, we are sharing our experience of using this artificial intelligence-based tool in perioperative hemodynamic monitoring of five cases of deceased donor liver transplant (DDLT).
